Singapore Trips | About Mr. Lee
Singapore has a very long history - no doubt. The Greco-Roman astronomer Ptolemy (90–168) identified a place called Sabana in the general area in the second century. The earliest written record of Singapore occurs in a Chinese account from the third century, describing the island of Pu Luo Chung (蒲 罗 中). This was translated from the Malay name "Pulau Ujong", or "island at the end", at the end of the Malay Peninsula that is. But the founding father of the modern Republic of Singapore is the late Mr. Lee Kuan Yew! When Singapore gained independence as the Republic of Singapore from Malayisa in 1965, Mr. Lee was faced with an impossible task but managed to make our “little red dot” what it is today!
Mr. Lee remained as the Prime Minister for 31 years! Come with us on a Singapore night tour and learn more about the founding of the modern Republic of Singapore!
