HELLO! SINGAPORE TOURS | SPOTLIGHT ON: RICHARD

Spotlight On: Richard

In this episode of Spotlight On we meet Richard! We have asked Richard some questions about his favorite things in Singapore. Join him on a Singapore Tour!

What's your favorite food and where would you recommend people to get it?

My favourite Satay stall is at Chinatown Food Center. There are many Satay stalls in this food center but the one I like best is tucked away in a corner. This particular family-run stall makes satay that is juicy, tender and perfectly grilled. They use a traditional Hainanese recipe which offers pineapple puree in their peanut sauce, that compliments the satay.

What’s your favorite place to take people to on tours?

Local Hawker Food Centers offer many delicious varieties of food to choose from. You will be spoilt for choice!

What's your favorite food and where would you recommend people to get it?

Sungei Road Laksa for Laksa. It is my favourite place for Laksa because of its traditional way of cooking in charcoal and richness in taste. Not overpowering but just a simple bowl of authentic Laksa cooked in the traditional way.

What's your favorite food and where would you recommend people to get it?

Kaya Toast from Ya Kun. Why? It is a traditional food place that has modernized. It has the sweet, the savory and more. Although Kaya Toast is mainly known as breakfast food, Singaporeans eat it anytime of the day. It is definitely sweet enough to even be a dessert!

What’s your favorite place to take people to on tours?

A half or full-day tour at the heart of the city which includes Fort Canning Park and surrounding areas because it has aspects of ancient, colonial and old Singapore. Followed by a visit to Marina Bay and surrounding areas, because it has aspects of redevelopment, the new, the modern and even future Singapore. All close to each other and within walking distance or quick rides on the bus. A well rounded showcase!

What’s your favorite place to take people to on tours?

Jewel + Changi Airport, probably the prettiest airport in the world - it is so big that one could easily spend a full day or two exploring it. As the 7th busiest airport in the world before pandamic, there was one flight taking off or landing every 6 minutes, the airport terminals are with environmentally friendly designs, lots of beautiful plants, trees, sculptures & interactive art installations. Did i mention fully carpeted halls? At the central of Jewel, it houses the world's tallest indoor waterfall with amazing gardens & nightly laser light show. Dining, shopping, entertaining, relaxing, staying,, exercising, you name it, Changi Airport has it - IT IS the best airport that one could ever imagine.
