MEET THE HELLO SINGAPORE TEAM
All of our tours are delivered by our own in-house Tour Guides. We have a meticulous in-house training and development programme. We monitor the quality of our tours and our Tour Guides. We reward excellence. We do not contract or work with any freelance tour guides. We are all absolutely lovely!
Hello, I am Laura and I am the founder of Hello Singapore.
My story starts in Hong Kong so bear with me. In 2011 I relocated to Hong Kong from London with my corporate job. Making the move was the easiest decision I have made. I had previously worked in Japan for a small Japanese company and I had spent a couple of weeks in Hong Kong on holiday and fallen in love with the city.
Once I became a resident of Hong Kong I realised that that during those two weeks I spent in Hong Kong on holiday, I didn’t see anything! Of course I had ticked off the tourist highlights but I had failed to learn anything about the local culture and customs. I had not had a ‘real life’ local experience. To put it simply I had seen Hong Kong through the eyes of the uninitiated tourist and left without any real understanding of Hong Kong and its people.
I decided to quit my corporate job and I set up Hello Hong Kong, a walking tour company specialising in culturally immersive small group and private tours of Hong Kong. I wanted to make sure that other visitors to Hong Kong did have that local experience that I missed out on.
Fast forward a few years and Hello Hong Kong has become a huge success, so much so that I decided to relocate to Singapore and set up Hello Singapore! Singapore is another city that is easy to visit, and at the same time, it is easy to miss out on that real life local experience. I have made it my mission to make sure that everyone who is lucky enough to visit Singapore has the opportunity to leave with an in-depth understanding of the history, culture, customs and day to day life of this wonderful city state.
I have built an exceptional team of guides in Singapore. I can guarantee that the best day of your trip will be the one that you spend with them!
We hope to see you soon!
Hi there, this is Gee Soo. Ni Hao!! Selamat Satang (Hello & Welcome)!
I was born in Malaysia and I am Chinese educated. I have been living in Singapore since 1998 and it is my home. I officially became a Singapore citizen in 2011. Being the middle child of a traditional middle class Chinese family shophouses were my childhood playground.
I received my tourist guide license, in English & Mandarin, back in 2008 and have been actively sharing my knowledge and love of Singapore with guests from all backgrounds, both young & mature, from the East and West ever since.
I have been described as a friendly, sincere, patient and energetic person, and I passionately enjoy sharing my love for Singapore, which grows everyday! My favourite phrase is from a local musical, it says: “There are no seasons here, but there is always love. . . “
The best part of being a tour guide with Hello Singapore tours is that every day is a holiday. I am able to make new friends day after day. The more I share, the more I learn and it never feels like work! In my previous life in the corporate world I spent five years working in finance and then ten plus years as an office manager. I don’t think I need to tell you which life I prefer!
I am totally addicted to traveling on a small budget. When I’m not guiding I will either be on a backpacking trip or getting ready for one. I love the challenge that it brings and the insight that I get into local life, all over the world.
Very often people describe Singapore as the “Little Red Dot”, but you will be surprised with the many hidden gems that we are going to discover together here! Maybe we should call it the Little Red Ruby!
I look forward to welcoming you, and to show you the best of Singapore.
Hello, I am Su Ling, your local guide ready to help you experience the real side of Singapore!
I am a ‘true blue’ local born Singaporean who speaks English with a local accent aka “Singlish”! My ancestors came from Hainan Island in China. I am proud to have Hainanese ancestry because the Hainanese are well known to have great taste buds! Growing up in Singapore I have witnessed it’s growth from a kampong (village) to a beautiful city and would love to share the stories of our heartland, culture and the delicious food scene with you!
I was in the property and facilities management line for 15 years till I decided to call it quits in order to boost my soul and do something more fulfilling. My inclination to share good recommendations to friends and family led me to tourist guiding. When my tour guests love what I recommend and share with them it really makes my day.
In Singapore, you will experience “rojak”. That is the Malay word that means “mixed”. It is the mix of cultures, races and food all in one place that makes Singapore unique.
I warmly welcome you to come here and experience the “rojak” with me!
My name is Daryl. Like all ethnic Chinese in Singapore, my roots are in China. My grandfather came to Singapore from a city call Nan Hai, in the southern Chinese province of Canton. He arrived on the shore of Singapore in the early part of the 20th century, soon after, he met my grandmother, fell in love, and decided to make this lovely and sunny tropical island, his new home. My father and myself were born and bred here in Singapore. Hence, I am a third generation Chinese.
I am proud of my Cantonese roots, thus, apart from English, I speak fluent Mandarin and Cantonese. And being surrounded by Indonesia and Malaysia, most Singaporeans like myself also have an elementary command of Bahasa Indonesia.
After working for years in the financial industry, I went through a period of self reflection. I realised that, in order for me to be fulfilled and to achieve my goal of having a balanced lifestyle, I needed to boldly pursue my childhood aspiration of being a professional tourist guide in my beloved country of birth, the Lion City, Singapore. And that was exactly what I did, and I have never looked back since!
Singapore, situated right in the heart of South East Asia, is a multi-racial, multi-lingual, multi-religious cosmopolitan city.
With its unique mix of modernity and colourful heritage, and a breath-taking concoction of East and West cultures, Singapore promises to be your perfect holiday destination.
I live in a fascinating and culturally rich area of Singapore called Tiong Bahru. It is a heritage area built in the 1940s and 50s in a unique art deco architectural style. Today there are many hip cafes and boutique shops interspersed between the traditional businesses. It is an fantastic area that I would be glad to show you around.
If you chose to travel with me as your guide, you will feel the love and passion that I have for my country. I will share a plethora of fun facts and fascinating anecdotes that make up the amazing cultural and historical backdrop of Singapore!
The spiciest constituent of Singapore’s culture, must surely be our Culinary Culture! And, who better than a bona fide food lover like myself, to help you sample the mind-boggling varieties of local Singaporean street foods and delights! At the same time, you may want to explore the streets that are off the beaten track, nestled in our cultural enclaves like Chinatown, Little India, Katong, and Kampong Glam.
If you are a big history buff like myself, we can enjoy an exciting afternoon blazing the trail at some of the renowned WWII sites in Singapore!
Whatever your preferences, I will tailor-make an one-of-a-kind itinerary for you, allowing you to explore the hidden cultural, historical and culinary gems, tucked away in the intricate and inviting streets of Singapore.
I give you my personal commitment to proved you with a fully personalised, immersive, and localised tour of a Lifetime!!!!
So, what are you waiting for ?
Put on your walking shoes and sun protection and follow me!
Hello! I am Janice, a locally born Singaporean Chinese. My ancestors came from Fujian in China and decided to make Singapore their new home. I am passionate about tourism and I have been in the travel industry for 15 years. You might not think that I look old enough but I have been travelling around the world since I was 18! You can do the maths 🙂
My love for travelling and backpacking is due to the opportunity that it gives me to interact with people from different cultures and upbringings. Meeting people from different backgrounds and thinking always opens my mind. That love led me to open a backpacker’s hostel in Singapore, which I ran for a number of years before selling it and becoming a qualified tourist guide!
Singapore is the perfect destination for a holiday. We are a multi-racial society that lives beside and among each other. It is convenient to travel; all the attractions are easily accessible via the MRT or bus network. The primary language is English and travellers should have no problem getting around and communicating. Our country is often known as a FINE city, where you might have to pay a fine if you break a small rule such as jaywalking or chewing gum! It is this same reason that makes our country a very safe place to live.
With all that said, it might seem like you do not need me when you travel to Singapore. That’s where you are mistaken! I will be able to provide interesting facts and information about each attraction, share stories about life growing up in Singapore and how the country has developed over the years. I will be able to provide insider tips and know-hows on the best way to truly experience my country. I can offer advice on the best value at each destination as well as insights into life in Singapore as a local.
You will not be disappointed! I look forward to meeting you and showing you my beautiful country!
Hello, my friends call me Kristie.
Singapore is my home. Singapore is where I was born, raised, schooled and worked in. My family lives here and in fact, I am a 4th generation Singaporean. I grew up in the Katong, on the Eastern side of Singapore; and in different phases of my life, had moved to the Central, Northern and Western part of Singapore; each part oddly unique even if on a little island. The only part of Singapore left for me to move to, be the Southern part and who knows when that may happen!!
I am a Singaporean Chinese and my great great great (great?) grandfather came from Fuchian province of China, so I have Hokkien roots. I speak Singaporean Hokkien and add that with a potpourri of English, Malay, Mandarin and whatever else we invent, you get “Singlish”.
Prior to being a Singapore Tourist Guide, I had spent 20+ years in Corporate; in both Professional and Management roles spanning from Finance, Marketing, Operations, Sales and HR. I left my Corporate life to go on an adventure and explore my other hidden “talents” and in a turn of some “oddball” events, I landed merrily on where I am today.
I am passionate about Singapore and being a Tourist Guide for my country is a wonderful vocation. Generously sharing with my guests the gems that lay around, beneath and within us.
As a 4th generation Singaporean Guide, I will take my guests through the journey from the eyes of a local. Giving insights and tidbits of what makes Singapore tick, while sharing the colourful and exciting historical and cultural details of Singapore.
I look forward to welcoming you to my country, Singapore. Sharing the local insights and the pulse of this “little red dot”, I call home.

Singapore Tour Guide – Spotlight on Janice Welcome to our fourth episode of “Meet your personal tour guide Singapore”! This is blog number 4 of our series to introduce you to your private tour guide in Singapore. When you have Janice leading you on your Singapore activities you definitely are in good hands with this ever-happy person! If you book a private customised tour with her, she will be able to tell you all the insider information on your tours in Singapore! Born Singaporean-Chinese and growing up in a multi-cultural environment, this world traveller has been in the travel industry for the past 13 years and has many stories to tell. Let’s see what Janice had to say in our short interview: ** What is your favourite Singlish word? –> Alamak! Its the Singaporean exclamation of surprise, like “OMG!” made popular by a local comedian **What is your favourite makan (food) place? –>I’m gonna be greedy here: – Tapioca cakes from Maxwell Hawker – Janggut Laksa at Katong (Try it on our food tour!) – Lor mee from Tiong Bahru market **I’m sure our readers will agree, they all sound delicious! 🍽🥣 **Do you have a favourite place in Singapore? –> I love the National Gallery! Not because I am a fan of the arts but because the 2 buildings (City Hall and Supreme Court) are a place that is rich in the modern history of Singapore and the architect did such a good job preserving and linking the two buildings together. ** Tell us the funniest thing that happened to you during a tour. –> Probably, not the funniest but it was memorable and made a joke out of it and it was good fun. We took the train with the guests, a couple from the USA. The door of the train was closing, the husband rushed into the train, the door closed after him, leaving me and the wife behind. Both husband and wife did not have mobile phones with them. We used sign language to communicate with the husband to stop at the next stop (good thing he understood! 😃). At the next stop, we found each other and the couple joked that the husband purposely walked quickly in hope to spend a day on his own without the wife. ** He should have planned it a bit more careful probably… 😂 #sg #privateguide #adventure #welltraveled #tourism #travelbug #lonelyplanet #travelstoke #hellosingaporetours #ilovesg #hellosg #singaporetour #sgtravel #sgtourguide #singaporetourguide #visitsingapore #personalguide #customizedtour #personalguide #singaporeexcursions #walkingtours #guideinsingaporeRead More
Singapore Private Tours With The Famous Bob Of Bob’s Red Mill Since we kicked off our tours in Singapore, we had some pretty fun Singapore excursions. Recently, we had one of these with no other than Bob Moore of Bob’s Red Mill! We took Bob and his group on a Singapore city tour. Here we can see Bob, Nancy and Nelson with Daryl, their Hello Singapore Tours private tour guide in Singapore. We at Hello Singapore Tours always make sure your Singapore city tour are unique. We customise your Singapore guided tours according to your interests to make it worth your while. For Bob and his group, we prepared a Singapore bus tour in our combi van around culture, history and religion. Bob wanted to visit the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum. This surely was a very interesting part to see the prayers. On the way, we bumped into a group of young men that recognised him! They were super happy to be able to take a picture with the founder of a leading name in health foods. We also like to show our guests the spiritual diversity of Singapore. So, we took the lovely group to St. Andrew’s Cathedral. These are just some of the many places we take our visitors on our Singapore car tours. If you want the best tours in Singapore, give us a shout and let us help you to experience Singapore’s many facets! #travel #traveloften #wanderlust #discoversingapore #customizedtour #photooftheday #bbctravel #singapore #sg #tourguide #adventure #welltraveled #tourism #travelbug #condenast #lonelyplanet #hellosingaporetours #hellosg #ilovesg #singaporetour #visitsingapore #cnntravel #walkingtour #visitsingapore #privateguide #personalguide #grouptour #personaltour #privatetour #viptour #bobsredmillRead More
