Hello Singapore
Singapore Activities | Esplanade Theatres on the Bay

Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay is a performing arts centre located in Downtown Core by the Singapore River. It was named after the Esplanade Park and consists of a concert hall which can seat about 1,600. It has a theatre with a capacity of about 2,000. The unique architectural design has been said to have an appearance similar to either a durian. Hence, the building is known as "the big durians". The structure wasn’t meant to be a durian; it ended up being like that because it seemed to the architects the most interesting way of doing sunshades which are more than 7,000 triangular aluminium sunshades cover its two circular glass shell structures. Glass was used because the views from Esplanade are beautiful in all directions. However, since Singapore is so close to the equator, the aluminium shades also had to be protected from the sunshine and heat radiation making the Esplanade appear like a big durian!

Hello Singapore
Singapore Trips | About Mr. Lee

Singapore has a very long history - no doubt. The Greco-Roman astronomer Ptolemy (90–168) identified a place called Sabana in the general area in the second century. The earliest written record of Singapore occurs in a Chinese account from the third century, describing the island of Pu Luo Chung (蒲 罗 中). This was translated from the Malay name "Pulau Ujong", or "island at the end", at the end of the Malay Peninsula that is. But the founding father of the modern Republic of Singapore is the late Mr. Lee Kuan Yew! When Singapore gained independence as the Republic of Singapore from Malayisa in 1965, Mr. Lee was faced with an impossible task but managed to make our “little red dot” what it is today!

Singapore Activities | Check Out Hari Raya

Singapore is known for many things - one of them is being multicultural. As such Singaporeans have adopted holidays from various backgrounds. The next one coming up is Hari Raya Aidilfitri, which marks the end of Ramadan. Should you be in Singapore during the month leading to Hari Raya, one of the things to do in Signapore is dropping by Geylang Serai to enjoy the festival light-ups. It is typically along Sims Avenue and Changi Road, in between Paya Lebar and Eunos MRT stations. Additionally on your Singapore city tour, you can visit a bazaar and attend weekly cultural programmes to experience the festive vibes.

Check out the festive lights on your private tours Singapore!

Singapore Car Tours | Historical Singapore Tour

No doubt, Singapore has a long and rich history. From the first settlement in the 14th Century throughout British colonisation, Second World War and finally becoming the Republic of Singapore in 1965. You will find a lot of artefacts from these different eras around Singapore. One of the famous ones is “The Battlebox”. Built in 1936, the Battlebox is a former WWII British underground command centre that was part of the headquarters of the army that defended Singapore in WWII. This is the place where the British made the decision to surrender Singapore to the invading Japanese on 15 February 1942.
